In for the night
Came home and had my dinner, flipped through the tv before getting restless. So I am now settled into bed, some green tea, some books, lit some candles. Pure relaxation on my day of rest! Tomorrow we are introducing my other half to body pump :)
Toxins in Cosmetics
I have already expressed my love for the Jillian Michael's podcast, but so much of what she has to say has changed my life! I have become a box turner, everything I buy from food to cosmetics I check the ingredients and if it has any of the following things i try to stay away!

Did you know that cosmetics and personal-care products are a huge source of endocrine-disrupting chemicals? "But wait," you're thinking. "If it's on the drugstore shelf, it must be proven to be 100 percent safe — right?"
Not necessarily. While the Food and Drug Administration regulates the safety of cosmetics, manufacturers don't have to seek approval before they bring a new product to market. Beyond an established list of prohibited or restricted substances, the FDA doesn't have the authority to regulate individual ingredients. As a result, all kinds of questionable chemicals are contained in the products that many of us rub into our skin every day. Here are some of the potentially harmful ones I want you to avoid:

Are There Toxins in Your Cosmetics?
Not necessarily. While the Food and Drug Administration regulates the safety of cosmetics, manufacturers don't have to seek approval before they bring a new product to market. Beyond an established list of prohibited or restricted substances, the FDA doesn't have the authority to regulate individual ingredients. As a result, all kinds of questionable chemicals are contained in the products that many of us rub into our skin every day. Here are some of the potentially harmful ones I want you to avoid:
Formaldehyde: This preservative may be found in moisturizers, facial cleansers, shampoos, conditioners, body washes, eye shadows, mascaras, and many other products. It's harmful to the immune system and is a known human carcinogen.
Parabens: Found in shampoos, conditioners, body washes, tooth whiteners, toothpastes, facial cleansers, sunscreens, moisturizers, and astringents, these preservatives have estrogenic effects on the body and have been linked to breast and prostate cancer.
Placenta: Used in some hair relaxers, moisturizers, and toners, placenta is also estrogenic and may increase the risk for breast cancer.
Triclosan: This antibacterial agent is found in a variety of products, including moisturizers, hand creams, shampoos, conditioners, antiperspirants, and toothpastes. It may interfere with the metabolism of thyroid hormone and contribute to antibiotic resistance.
Play it safe when you buy personal care products — first look them up in the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep database, and buy from companies that have signed the Compact for Safe Cosmetics.
Thoughts for Thursdays
The day before FRIDAY!! The end of the week is near, the weekend is always when I fall short, I LOVE a brunch, I love going for a coffee with something sweet and if my boyfriend has anything to say about it he loves a pint and watching the game.
So I am not denying myself food that I love I am just choosing differently and making some conscious choices before Saturday is here so I get the food I need in the house and don't go and nibble on things I shouldn't.
When it comes to juice, it is so much better for you to eat a fruit instead of the juice that it is made of, there is a very slight chance that the juice you are drinking is 100% juice even if it says so on the box.
1 large coffee with skimmed milk (10)
This with 1 boiled egg!(70) TADA
Brunch : 359
It becomes a lot of calculating but you need to know almost to the number what you are putting in and what you are burning! My job requires me to spend a lot of time as a desk so I am not very mobil so for me to loose 1.5 pounds per week I can only eat 1200 calories a day.
Now this is calculated so that the amount of food I eat is my fuel for the workouts, I can go a bit below and maybe I will have some more drastic changes but you cant have to big of a deficit as your body will think it is starving and start eating away your muscles (when this happens and then you start eating again or maybe go on a binge your body will store the new excess as fat and you will have to work harder to build new muscle)
So think a head for the weekend, have a little treat maybe even something non food related. Something that will make you feel good about yourself. (Shopping always helps me)

So I will buy some sort of Melon and have a slice or two (Melon is a good choice as you don't HAVE to buy organic as it has a thicker rind and will absorb the pesticides so it wont go in the actual fruit) (1 cup=61)
Quick Oats with Golden Syrup (132), on that ill sprinkle some cinnamon with skimmed milk (86)

Food Diary
Breakfast
Protein Bar (I got a couple of boxes of Itrim Balance Bars when I was in Sweden) 130 calories per bar + A cappucino from the office Nespresso manchine
Lunch
Left over from the day before, (I am getting a food scale tomorrow so I can start weighing my food) But its usually around 450 calories
Snack
20 almonds (129)
1 tangerine (37)
(I try and drink lots of water)
Dinner
As I am not working out today I am going to stick to this plus some more left overs so another 450 calories
130 + 50 + 450 + 129 + 37 + 450 = 1246 (46 calories over my daily budget, not a biggy, think I have over thought my lunch and dinner anyways)
p.s all of this I have added into My Fitness Pal app!
